Pledge on plastic windows?? / washing the soft-top

I've heard/read a couple different places that Pledge is a good idea to be used on soft-top plastic windows. Is this true??

Also, what recommended for washing the soft-top? Brush? Sponge? Type of soap?

Thanks...

The manual calls for a soft-bristle brush on the canvas top.

Pledge works but not for long that's what I hate. Make sure you clean off the worst of the dirt first with the hose. Get a micro-cloth.

To keep my plastic windows nice I just use Mequires Plast-X. It seems to take out the fine scratches quite well. As for washing the soft top, I use the normal Mequires Gold Class car wash stuff, this clean most of it off, but not the mud stains. I have heard that Simple Green works well on mud stains, but I have not used it myself.

Hope that helps

I found something that works great on soft top windows!! Its called pro honda spray cleaner & polish !! i worked in a honda bike show room and thats what we used on the bikes front windshields it also beads up like wax, repels water it says safe on all plastics rubber and paint. I been using it for years on my tjs tinted oem soft top windows. They sell it where they sell honda bikes and jet skis

Pledge is nothing more than a temporary band-aid fix that fills small scratches with wax that eventually disappears. Better to polish out such scratches with a plastic window polish like Novus or Maguires.

Of course it's best to help prevent the scratches by never rubbing them when they're dirty and especially never using paper towels on them.

Gone to Florida 7/19-7/28.
When you have a choice, buy American made.

it's not to bad with the right products. plastic windows: NOVUS makes a 3 piece kit. heavy scratch remover. fine scratch remover. and plastic clean and shine. i have used all three and the results are amazing! soft top: RAGGTOPP makes a kit of cleaner and protectant. it's approved by haartz, the original fabric manufacture for jeep tops. and 303 makes a top cleaner also. hope this helps! now for some part #'s. #771000-novus kit. #03143-raggtop cleaner. #01141-raggtop protectant. #030550-303 top cleaner. all can be bought at www.4wd.com PLEXUS is also a good product fo the plastic windows.
