Oil Pressure Problem
I have a 2005 TJ Rubicon with 85,000 miles on it and am not sure if i have an OPDA issue or if something else is going on. It has done this twice to me. On startup the oil pressure would not move and the light comes on. I turned it off immediately, waited a minute and it restarted fine, no issue. I also notice that the oil pressure comes up real slow at times and the oil pressure always runs a little high on the gauge. I'm just not sure if its the OPDA (which is most likely) or the oil pressure sending unit. I'm aware of the OPDA issues with 05-06 TJ's but I'm hoping its something else. I haven't had time to take it out and examine it. Has anyone else had a similar issue that wasn't OPDA related? Thank you!!
What oil and filter are you running? Have you tried different brands/types?
"Yeah well, that's just like...your opinion, man."
Mr. Madison, what you've just said ... is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
As I'm sure you've seen many times on this forum, oil pressure indication problems are frequently caused by the sending unit. Check pressure with a mechanical gauge. Replacing the sending unit is a cheap/easy thing.
Keep in mind that free advice can frequently be worth less than you pay for it.
