notchy to mild grinding when shifting.

I have an 04 rubi with a 5-speed. The tranny was replaced at 60k under warranty (currently has 65K miles), and a new clutch was installed then too.

I recently replaced the transmission fluid with Redline MTL and have noticed 1st to 2nd will grind at times, and 2nd to 3rd mildly grinds almost every time.

This occurs with the trans. cold and at operating temp.

I have only had the jeep a couple of months, but I don't remember the jeep shifting like this prior to changing to MTL.

Anyone using Redline MTL?? Thanks all.

I use that in mine and have not had this issue, is it only when it is cold? How long ago was the trans replaced?

Recommend you check the trans fluid. It may be low or the rear seal may be leaking. This will cause hard shifting in a manual transmission. You dont have a dipstick, you will have to pull the plug on the side of the xmsn and check. If the fluid is at the filler hole, then you are good to go, if not then service till it is. While your underneath, check for leaks or sprayed oil. If its there then you probably have a bad rear seal.

Let us know what you find out.

Good luck
