New to me LJ - Top is loose

Hi all. I picked up a really clean 04 LJ last night and am really excited to get going on some small things. The top is/was extremely loose. I believe it is a BestTop Trek top. Is there any way to tighten the support beams up or extend them so it is tighter?

Is the sunrider portion cliped into the door surrounds?

One clip was missing. It was just saggy overall so I removed everything and re-installed with new hardware. I also added some support bars to help out and it's really tight now.

Now you can buy some Krylon fusion and paint those flares.

No doubt. There's a can or three of Rustoleum Truck Bed Liner destined for jobs like that.

If those are Kakhi color it would be blasphemy to paint them.
Took me 4 years to piece together a set for mine.

Or he could get a set of Metal Cloaks instead.

Of course the Krylon would be a couple bucks cheaper...

OP... welcome to the LJ family!

I doubt they're khaki on a silver LJ. Not to mention, LJ's don't have body colored flares. I bought a full set of khaki flares for $150 for my old Sahara.

I'd be willing to pay $20 (Krylon paint 4 cans) for some MC flares, but only if the install was included. I have always hated the look of those. Not to mention, they're not even flares.

p.s. My neighbor used to be on here years ago and did testing for some companies. He offered me free MC flares and bumpers when he was going to sell his LJ. I passed on both. I had Warn bumpers at the time and had no problems with them. Normally I would take free stuff and sell it.

Some LJ's do have body colored flares, mine were silver when I got it. Part of some package, can't recall what it was now. Plastic surrounding the gauges on the dash, as well as the big center bezel around the radio and HVAC controls is also silver, rest of dash and interior is black. Rustoleum Bed Liner works great on flares. Color and texture pretty close to factory black. Did mine in '12 when I got it because I didn't like the silver flares, and they still look like factory new.
