Someone here has plans he made up to store a hardtop in it's vertical position ( with the rear glass facing the floor )

Anyone know him and if i could get those plans so i can build myself a stand.

I know I've seen a few of these devices for sale on a few of the vendors here... or were you looking more for a DIY?

I made myself one using some boards I had laying around, 4 casters and a scrap of carpet. I can take pics if you would like.

Looks good, but $65 is too much. The one posted above is less then $15. The wheels are what cost the most.

I just got done building mine per the plans in this thread. I paid:

$6.28 for 2 top grade 2x4's
$17.84 for 4 HD Industrial casters
$11.96 for two 2" hand clamps (to keep the glass closed)

Plus a few dollars on screws. I went with the HD 175lb casters just because I tend to overbuild. Went together like a breeze per the instructions and balances perfectly. I did put a piece of carpet padding where it sits against the wood...but that's just me overdoing it as usual.

I'm going to go for it as well with 4" casters and I think I'm going to add a brace across the front since my top will have to travel across a parking lot to make it to storage.

Yea, on mine in the pic above, I went with small casters. not good enough, definetly get bigger casters, the small ones dont have the power to move the top.

I just built this rack, and I put my hardtop on there. It fits well enough. I added tie-down straps because I live in earthquake country and don't want my hardtop falling on anything. However, I can't figure out a good way to keep the rear glass closed. It wants to slam open into the garage floor. I tried duct tape, but that wasn't strong enough. Right now I have a piece of carpet underneath it.
