I wouldn't do that. It's basically applying the weight of the Jeep as a torque trying to rotate the axle forward, which will result in a large compression force on your UCAs. One good hit and the UCAs will turn into pretzels.

I have 1.25x1 heims and 2x2x.25 wall tubing. I would hope it would hold up to some stronger forces hen that.

Fair point on the driveshaft. A couple inches of wheelbase isn't going to change performance, but a couple inches in the driveshaft can be big.
Your driveshaft will only be about just less than an inch shorter with the 14 bolt vs the D35 or D44. Another perk for the 14 bolt

Was able to get a day and a half in on the Jeep this past weekend and some progress was made!

What do you guys think is a good price to sell the factory d44 for? The ring and pinion are trashed and it needs wheel bearings and seals. I have an upgraded u-bolt yoke alloy usa chromoly axles and an auburn gear limited slip in it. Much abridged for any help.

some more progress was made in the last couple weekends. Its hard to get anything done only being able to work on it for only a few hours on the weekends. I wish I had more time or money.
