LJ Corner Protection

I'm looking at adding some corner protection to my LJ. Currently looking at Rokmen's Trail Corners or PSC Crusher Corners. I do some moderate to slightly hard crawling in AZ, CA, and UT and I have already struck my passenger side at the corner. What I'm really trying to get at is how many of you hit the space between the rear wheel well and the door? I'm leaning towards the Rokmen corners because they're in the budget but I'm worried about that open section since it's longer than the TJs. Weight and protection are both concerns and it looks like Rokmen trail corners fit that criteria well, but the PSC corners are full corners but are heavy and at the top end of the budget. They also need to have provisions for factory flares, license plate, and stock tail lights.

I forgot to mention that there is a slider bar on the rock sliders that might help to keep the rocks off the mid section

Anyone struck the mid section on their LJ? Any input on corners?

On my previous LJ, I ran the PSC corners and they were great. On my current LJ, I have the Rokmen corners and they are the same.

I also ran / run rocker guards so the area you are concerned about is covered.

Not to start a Savvy or nothing commentary, but why not consider Savvy as well?

Meets all of your criteria and lightweight to boot!

I think he wants trail corners not full sides and he has a budget.

I would like to run savvy corners, but just not feasible at the moment. Maybe in a few years I will. That's also why I'm looking at trail corners, because they are lighter than full but still cover the damage. Just worried about the larger mid section then that of the tj's

well I don't have an lj but have damaged that section on my tj...very glad I had already had the corners on so it was only minor. if you are worried about damage then I would just bite the bullet and get full corners now

I run the rokmen full corners and full strikers for the corners (posted a picture in your other thread you started in the picture section) because I hit that area a lot! When I rolled this summer, the strikers and corners are what save me from needing a new tub rail or worst. I would go full length if I were you.

I have the PS trail corners, less cost than the Crushers:

They work with the factory fenders.

Thanks for the responses guys. I have never hit the mid section before, but I have a feeling one day I will. Now just to decide on psc or don't eat for awhile and splurge on aluminum armor....

I have the Metalcloak aluminum corners for my TJ. They're basically trail corners with enough metal added to bolt their flares to.

I almost bought theirs because they did have the best deal, but 4wp had psc aluminum full corners with everything I need for $429 vs $515 at Northridge. Plus 5% off and free shipping 4wp made them the cheapest I saw. So I decided not to eat and just do it once with the psc full corners

That is a good deal. even with the stout 10% off, they are 385 but the shipping is $80
