Krawlers with a D30

Anybody have any experience with the 35" BFG Krawlers on a D30. I have upgraded mine with a super 30,30 spline moly shafts. I have 35" KM2's on there now, just wonder if it will handle the extra weight.

I ran them on my Rubi 44. I wouldn't recommend it, especially on a dana 30. They were around 20 lbs heavier per corner, plus around 2" wider and taller. Looked cool, but it was hard on parts. I broke two stock axle shafts with minimal effort. I'm sure I could have broken a chromoly shaft without too much more effort.

The performance on them was good, but I don't think it was that much better than the km2's I replaced to justify the extra wear and tear. I went to 35" MTR K's, and have found the performance just as good as the krawlers, with less wear and tear.

They did look pretty awesome though.

It's not an addiction. It's a way of life.

Thank you Tim, I appreciate the input. That helps a lot with my decision. I just put a D60 in the rear and was wanting to put off doing anything to the front for as long as possible. I've wore out the set of KM2's with not the first issue on the front. The D35 in the rear was a different story though. I think I'll just go with a new set of KM2's.

OP it all matters where you wheel and how heavy your foot is. I run 37 goodyear mtr kevs on my rebuilt hp30 with stock shafts. I crawl everything and stay out of the trottle and it stays together. Oh, and it is a dd rig so it gets some miles on it too.
