Just think back in the day that the phone would ring while watching tv. You had to get out of the chair, walk to the hallway where the phone was tied to the wall with a cord, only to find out, it was a wrong number.

...and you had to get up to turn the channel or volume. I also remember having to wait for the TV tube to "warm up". I guess I'm showing my age.
