I bought my '06 LJ with about 47K miles on it. Installed 2" lift, 31" MTR Kevlar, gave it new spark plugs and an oil change - got just over 20 mpg on its first highway trip of ~240 miles. I was very happy and surprised.

I'd like to put some
31 inch BFG A/Ts on it. I wonder if that would make a difference in mileage over the stock 30 inch GS-A's

with 33s and 4.10s I have no problem getting between 16-17. On my 3.07s and stock gsa's I would pull 20-21 np. It has been shown that it has a lot to do with the driver.

In my 97 4.0 manual, From what I calculated I get 25 mpg.
But I figured that was too good, so I rounded down to 20 to make up for any calculation variables/ errors.

buy a ScangaugeII. you can watch the entire gas mileage thing in real-time.

Depending where I'm driving and what gear I'm in, I can get between 1 mpg and 9999 mpg.

x2. I rarely use my cruise control. 1. because it's sketchy 2. i like being in control.

I've run both ways, and over all get better mpg with the cruise control. The big exception would be mountains; the cc will use the engine to break on the downhills and do all it can to keep the set speed on the uphills.

cruise also forces the engine/42RLE to drop into 2nd to attempt to maintain highway speeds....55mph at 4500rpms isn't fun. my friend with an XJ/235s/3.55s can run circles around me in the mountains....while my engine screams at 4500rpms and struggles to maintain speed.... i think the scangauge registers 0-5mpg for most of that.
