I need help finding TJ soft top parts

I just bought a used factory sahara soft top with hardware for my TJ that is in excellent shape, except for the driver side above the door. The plastic retainers that clip into the door surrounds came unstitched and one of them is gone. I have looked online and can't find a replacement. Where can I find another retainer piece? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I've never seen those anywhere. May want to contact Bestop, as they made it and see if they will sell you one.

That's not a part that you can normally source on it's own. Your best bet would to find someone who is tossing an old soft top.

There's a guy by the name of jscherb on here that'll have some advice for you. I think rubber flower garden border from a big box home store is what he has talked about using in the past.

Awesome. Thank y'all for the replies. Looks like I'll need to find a tent or canopy repair business to stitch it back together.

a old bad top that someone was tossing would be your best bet. cut off the piece you need.
Do a ad on local craigslist for a bad top or that piece.. Be surprised what people have laying around. Covering a old ATV or law mower... They dont need that hard plastic piece that keeps poking them when they uncover the mower..
You can install your new top as is till you get a chance to find the part.

Its hard to do, but a big needle and thread and thumb thimble will work to sew it back on. And pliers

....SNIP....
@CrazyCooter- I have a new top on order for my LJ, should be showing up this week. If you want the part from my old top (which I intend to trash), just let me know.

Happy Jeeping!

Well I took the top to get stitched back together and they said that I'd be better off with a new top....so I ordered a Bestop for it. Guess I'll have some spare windows....lol
