How many hours of labor to install a 5.5" LA kit?

Just curious to how many hours you all think it would take to install something like a RE 5.5", clayton 5.5, and any others out there. Shop right down in my town charges $65 an hour.

I think it was over a week for the local shop to install my lift. Another guy I talked to said they did it in 3 days.

If everything went perfect and you had a helper I'd think you could do it in a day. Once you get the skid on it's basically bolt on.

I can't tell you in hours but the 2 quotes I received were $1000 & $1100 from 2 seperate shops. The $1100 quote was fo the entire kit or the LA upgrade didn't matter. Yes, I know you can do it yourself but that wasn't the question.

For comparison purposes only, my RE 4.5" SF kit was installed by the same shop as the $1100 quote for $420.

got quoted today on this by two shops.. clayton long arm upgrade, axle brackets for the 8.8 and installing 8.8. $500 by one company and $600 by another. Also said they would install gears for $100 . Guess with the economy the way it is prices are starting to drop ..atleast in my neck of the woods. Guy at one shop said it would take a few days and the other said 2 days tops.

^x2...plus an extra day to fine tune and really dial everything in (i.e. pinion angle, toe in, caster, axle center, etc.)

Time consuming but not overly difficult IMO. Mabye a bigger issue if the jeep is your only mode of transportation.
