Hard top Wiring Harness???

I just put a 2003 TJ hard top on my 2000 TJ.
I already have the wiring harness and washer fluid run to the back, but for some reason Jeep changed their wiring harness between 2000 and 2003.

Is there an adapter that I can get??? Or am I stuck buying an '03 harness and splicing wires...I was hoping for an adapter, it would be alot cleaner than my splicing job.

No adapter as far as I know. Spicing will be cheaper and easier.

I believe there's one other problem with this setup that you haven't considered. I believe that they changed the vent locations between the 02 and 03 model years. Your '00 is supposed to have them in the hardtop, but the '03 hardtop counts on having them in the back door. That could cause some problems...

You can buy an adaptor for the wiring here :http://www.jeepsareus.com/Merchant2/...Code=Wrangler4
Not cheap but all the work is done for you .
Don't know how much of a problem the vents would be but you could always try to find a 03 or newer tailgate at a salvage yard that has the vents in it .

Thanks for the replies...I might just do it myself for $50.00.

What kind of problems would the vents cause??? I never even thought about that.

If you have full doors it will be hard to close the doors with the windows up.

I did notice that it was kind of pressurized

Is that the only bad part about not having the vents???

The lack of venting might also affect the efficiency of the defrosting system during the winter since there is no where for the air to easily escape..... What am I saying.... it's a Jeep, not a tightly sealed Audi or BMW.

I would think it would affect most of the A/C or heating functions, due to the inability of the air to escape.

I'd probably either look around for a '03+ tailgate, or try to find some way to 'vent' the hard top.

I have no idea how much area your vent would need to have, sorry.
