Simple Green is my favorite. Cheap and can be had in bulk at Wallyworld, Costco, Sams club, etc.... Supposed to be environmentally friendly....

Other than that, you have a myriad of choices just for the task....

JEEPLESS... :(

I swear by Lestoil. I have been cleaning engines for years and this stuff works like no other(in my opinion). If this is your first time cleaning it, no matter what you use you will have to do some manual labor and scrub it. Do not go out and buy a can and expect it to do miracle work on heavy build up. If you do clean the engine regularly then the can stuff will work.

Don't expect to hit it with a pressure washer and it to be gone, you'll splatter the grease and gunk through more parts of the engine bay, and make it harder to clean up. I do not recommend using a pressure washer period. A garden hose is good enough and just remember to disconnect the battery and cover any vital stuff. But go buy a mitt and some other scrubbers to get to those hard to reach areas and spend a good bit of time with your Jeeps engine. Once clean get a can of (like mentioned before) Armor All Ultra Shine or something similar and make the engine shine. The initial cleaning is always a pain.

Here is an old pic before I did some upgrades to the engine. But this was only a couple months ago and the Jeep had a little over 100,000 on it.

Castrol Super Clean (in the purple jug) is some of the best degreaser I have used. You have to be careful not to get it on your paint. It's also biodegradeable so you can use it most anywhere.

Get the engine warm, and use easy-off oven cleaner. Only spray it on greasy sections, let sit for 5 minutes, and blast away. Then top it with Simple Green. Works like magic!

I would recommend using a spray degreaser , spray degreaser is easy to apply adn it gets cleaned easily , you would find a good spray degreaser on a automobile shop and also read the instructions before using it .

Stuff that makes your engine look shiny like silicone spray and was discontinued in 2012.

I'm guessing in the next few years we're going to see a lot of not-so-environment friendly products gets taken off the shelves.
