Exhaust Manifold

My Jeep has the duel catalytic converters on the manifold and one more on the exhaust. Has anybody change out to older style manifold with out converters. Just wonder about the o2 sensor config with the PCM

3 things come to mind.

1) I would suspect an issue with pre cat and post cat codes - hopefully Newton* has a solution.

2) Illegal to remove or render inop an emission device FEDERAL not state regulation.

3) if it ain't broke don't Mess with it.

When I see the price of OEM I think aftermarket.
When I see the quality of aftermarket I think OEM.

1.) Newton has a solution. It is not allowed as a discussion on the forum. I have been warned before.

2.) Yes, it is illegal to remove the cats unless (in most states) the vehicle is used exclusively offroad. Again, the discussion is not allowed. I have been warned, several times.

3.) Correct, in context. The realistic answer is that there are huge gains to made, but only if you are willing to follow through. Head flow, camshaft, custom tune, etc..... all must be addressed.

I've done it successfully. It makes a big difference when done correctly. However, most of the time it is not.

It is also illegal in most applications, the mechanics are not to be discussed, and mine is back legal again.

Maybe a PO switched an early manifold for a later one. How many O2 sensors do you have?
