Dudes, we all have these problems...right??? (Axle off center, body imperfections)

Hey Guys,

1) I have a 2005 TJ Willys Edition with 33" x 12.5" tires. When I look at my rear passenger side tire it sticks out about a 1/4 of an inch more than all the others. I checked all of the usuals (i.e. spacers, rim offset, axel possition), and everything seems okay. Anybody else with larger tires see this variance as well? I guessing it has something to do with the configuration of the 4 wheel drive.

2) Also, why are there 4 circular indents shaped like an "L" below my tail lights on each side? At first I thought is was shotty body work, but then I saw them on a few other TJ's as well.

Thanks for your time!

A lift with stock track bars will pull your axles over to one side. I am assuming you have a lift with 33's. Fill out your profile.

factory spot welds? I'd have to go look at mine but I bet that's what they are.

I dont think I have those spots under my tail lights? Of if I do, I havent noticed them? How can you see the indents on the driver side? Isnt your license plate bracket there?

Maybe the previous owner had corner guards on it before?

Okay...looking at the plates, there should be three vertical indentations lined up just below the right side of the plate...all about the size of a hole punch. You can't really see them at first. I only noticed them when looking closely to the paint. Anybody else?

Do you know if that will in any way negatively effect the pressure put on the wheel bolts? How about uneven tire wear?

BTW, To the great state of Washington. Used to live in Walla x2 myself.

As far as wheel bolts and tire pressure, I have no idea. I have read on this forum that having your axles a bit off center does not hurt anything on the Jeep if driven that way. It is more if it bugs you or not. It bugged me, so I have an adjustable front track bar and a rear track bar relocation bracket on mine to center things up.

Washington State is a great place. So much to do. Mountains, lakes, forest, desert, ocean, everything. I have lived all over, but I like it here.
Could use a better Governor though!

Agreed with the Governor.

I'm a detail guy so I guess I might have to go your route on centering my axels. Thanks for the parts list!

They're just the spot welds from the welding robots. Some colors (like our Moss Green) show it more than others, but they're all there. I've had them on all 3 TJ's I've owned now. (and all were some color green)
