Dreaded limp mode

Yesterday my 2005 wrangler LJ went into limp mode(only 2nd gear and reverse) the obd2 scan came up p0613 (Tcm processor) and p0888(power relay sense circuit). I tested pins 18 and 29 and they are working properly. After alot of research I get the feeling I'm going to need to replace the PCM (as I understand it the tcm is part of the pcm?) Wranglerfix.com seems to be the source for replacement part. Has anyone had experience with wranglerfix.com? Good or bad? About how long for part delivery? Any other diagnostics I can perform to narrow this problem down? Any help is appreciated.

How old is your battery
Wrangler fix is the only place I'd spend my money at,but you need to be sure first.
If you can afford it go get it scanned at the dealership, you'll save in the long run

Battery is two months old. Think I will give wranglerfix.com tomorrow and ask some questions.

Good decision, Mark will help you figure out if it's a bad PCM or not. @wranglerfix

I would check P0888 first.
YES TCM is part of (incorporated into) PCM.

My thinking - TCM would likely set other if it is inop.
P0888-RELAY OUTPUT ALWAYS OFF
When Monitored: Continuously
Set Condition: This code is set when less than 3 volts are present at the transmission
control relay output circuits at the Transmission Control Module when the TCM is
energizing the relay.

SO do you need a wiring dia of Trans relay?

When I see the price of OEM I think aftermarket.
When I see the quality of aftermarket I think OEM.

Wranglerfix is the $h!+. I hope that doesn't count as bypassing the language filter. That other place spoiled me.

I agree with jtec, check the relay function first. Make sure fuse 5 in the PDC is good. If yes, pull the trans relay & make sure you have 12v at terminal 30 in the socket, terminal #1 in the diagram. If good put the relay back in & with the key on check pins 19 & 28 in the C-4 (green) PCM connector for 12v.

You care to elaborate a bit, for the benefit of those here that may be needing help in this area.

Simple if you need a PCM for a TJ contact Wranglerfix.

Boggieman and Jerry Bransford recommend them - that's all I need.

The p0888 code kept me up late last night. Did more research on the problem. Going to check the wiring diagram tonite (I have a manual). wondering if there is a bad solenoid or
A wire grounding out. Also I checked with a second code reader and got six more codes. P0700, P1604, P0031, P0037, P0051, and P0057. The last four are O2 failures. I find it hard to believe all four quit at once. The p1604 Seemes to be pcm failure. A call to mark at wranglerfix.com was extremely helpful. He is super knowledgeable on these pcm/tcm failures. Thank you for offering the wiring diagram, very helpful.

Just got home. Checked fuse #5 its fine. Going to check for 12 volts at the relay(as well as checking the relay itself). As I mentioned above six more codes came up, ugh. Dinner and cold beer are next on the list followed by the recommendations you mentioned. thank you for your time to help with this issue, I appreciate the help.

I hope you are comfortable and enjoy test lights DVOM's and wiring diagrams.

You have some work coming your way with the list of codes.
Is the jeep STOCK powertrain wise - no programmers, chips, 'tuners', alarms ?
With KOEO is there 12v at relay cavity A2 - I am curious.
THINKING If the PCM is not getting power 12v (P1604) could it cause the relay to be inop stay open...
Warning I am a hopeless optimist.

Here is some info iP1604-PCM INTERNAL DUAL-PORT RAM READ/WRITE INTEGRITY FAILURE
When Monitored: Ignition off, on, and run/start.
Set Condition: Internal PCM failure detected. Intermittent open on PCM Connector 1, pin 12

That P1604 is a bad one usually requiring a PCM replacement. Also, getting all 4 O2 heater codes at the same time also indicates a bad PCM. I hope jtek’s optimism is correct but doubt it.
