Core-Shifters

Hey all, short intro as this is my first post. Bought a 2000 TJ Sport that will be a family weekend fun vehicle and in a year it will be my son's high school commuter. Had a little adventure with it a couple weeks ago...the rod rising out of the shifter snapped off shifting into 5th. This was well below the connector between for the shift rod. Took my time looking around for a solution I decided I wanted a Hurst shifter only to find out that they have been discontinued. In my search for an old stock or used Hurst I found Core-Shifters. I don't know technically how the CS shifter compares to the original Hurst, but the factor that sealed the deal for me was that their shifters are compatible with and use Hurst shift rods. This turned out to be a very good thing as the shift rod that ships with the NV3550 kit was hitting the console when shifting into 2, 4 and reverse due to my 2" body lift. I sent the rod back, trading it for the one that ships with the AX15 kit. Getting the console back on was a bit of a trick, but with a little flexing and manipulation of both selector levers it worked. It is going to take a bit to get used to the short throw...it feels more like shifting in a sports car but I really like it.

I will try to link some pics tomorrow when there is some light to take them.

Unless something goes direly wrong with the shifter I have to say I am impressed with it and Core-Shifters.

Good deal. I'll keep it in mind if I ever need one. Did you buy it off of their site?
