Hey guys, i'm having the same issue. but my fluid level has never been to the low mark, and no leaks?? is it normally the actual pump that whines or is it the pulley? I dont know why this thing has just started whining but its getting worse...

It's often the actual pump. Chances are you'll need to replace it, if it's getting worse as you say. Not too hard to do yourself, if you're up for it.

yeah it just looks like a couple bolts & the pressure/return lines... would it be a good idea to change the lines as well? is there some type of filter i should look at?

It's not a bad idea to change the lines while you're at it, but I didn't do that when I replaced mine and it's been fine. There's no filter to mess with. I would recommend you get a new pump that includes the reservoir, instead of getting just the pump by itself.

Yeah, more or less. Jack it up to get the wheels off the floor, then turn it all the way left and all the way right (but not hitting the steering stops) until bubbles stop coming out of the PS reservoir. Then start the engine and continue turning it left and right, as before. After about 30 or 40 turns you should be ok. Watch the pump for leaks for the next several weeks.
