A/C fan speed relay mod

2001 Wrangler 4 cyl. I have found threads on the fan speed switch overheat problem but nothing recent. I would like to try the relay mod but the threads are so old the pictures are no longer there and I cannot seem to view the pics in the gallery. Does anyone have any new info on this issue? I really don't want to try the wiring without pictures to guide me. I have replaced the switch, resistor and blower motor and still having this issue. For now I have speeds 1-3 but not 4. When on 1 or 2 no heating. On speed three, very noticeable heating of wire at plug for switch. 4 does not work. The new switch only lasted 2 weeks with a new blower motor before slightly melting the switch at the base where the high speed wire plugs in and stopped working.

New blower motor is bad, maybe? Have you checked to see how many amps it is reading?

I pulled apart the plastic connector that plugs into the switch and bent the metal enough to make a tighter connection. Seems to be working now with very little heat. They need to be very well connected. If it is even slightly loose it seems to cause enough resistance to overheat. I might try soldering the wires directly to the switch.
