brake lights question

ok my 3rd brake light works, (cyclops ones above spare) but my main back 2 ones do not work, they light up with headlights on, the turn signals in them work, and i did a search.

Seems it might be teh "multi function switch" anyone know where this is located at on a 99 TJ? before I get out teh manual.

TIA

ok, i did some reading, seems if i turn teh 4 ways on and they don't work, then its the multi function switch, but if they do work, then there is a brake light switch i just need to replace? anyone wanna back this up for me?

If your 3rd brake light works when you press on the brake pedal then I doubt it's the brake light switch... It smells like the multi-function switch to me, but I'm sorry I don't have a schematic to tell you for sure and help you on what to look for...
BTW the multi-function switch is the turn signal/headlamp switch on the left hand side of your steering column.

It could still be the multi function switch... Again it all depends on the design. Do you have a schematic?
