Best Oil Pan / Engine Skid plate

OK....my bonus went towards my debt and savings.

NOW, with my taxes it's time to start feeding the beast.

I know there's a lot of info out there in skid plates (i've searched) but I'm getting a ton of conflicting reports.

I'm looking for the best oil pan / engine skid out there. I'm talking about ease to put on AND robustness.

I currently have the old WARN and will NEVER make that mistake again. It's a piece of crap. It's all bent and mangled, and I havne't even put it through that much abuse. That was a lot of money down the drain.

I just want the best..hands down. I plan on making a couple of wheeling trips this summer, so need to upgrade now.

Either one is what you want..just make your decision and be happy with it.

You cannot go wrong with either.

I am seriously considering 33 Engineering... I haven't heard anything bad about it, but am basically looking for the same answer. My original research would lead me down the Jeep Medic path, however, I haven't seen anything written that would say otherwise about 33.

Well, 3/16" steel versus JM Engine Skid at 1/4" thick... No comparison. You get what you pay for....

JM is $290 shipped...

Rustys is $190 shipped (for me)...

I would say it is worth the extra hunskee but to each their own...

JEEPLESS... :(

I vote for the Jeep Medic. I had the Rusty's before my lift and it worked pretty good. The only downside was that it uses the bolts for your control arms to hold the front in place. So if you plan to ever go to a long arm lift, you can't use it anymore since you would be removing the control arm mounts.

Rusty's is just like Warns....I can get a Warn off Ebay for $159 shipping included.

I don't really need a really think one anyways....I do mostly trails and minor stumps and holes, not alot of rocks. I feel even a thinner one is better than nothing... If I lived where there was a lot of crawling I'd do a thicker one like Jeep Medic or Skid Row. It's FLAT here.

I have a Skid Row and I am happy with it. I will eventually be getting a Jeep Medic, as I do plan to go LA one day.
