Where is the best place to source a crate engine?

My 2002 finally bit the dust at 249,000, cracked piston, rings in oil pan, cylinder scored; depending on the numbers it's likely cheaper to just replace than hone, sleeve and rebuild.

I got mine from these guys several months ago, and so far, not a single issue...

Oh it's more, than done its job the last 17 years, can't complain a bit, knew it would happen eventually.
The plan is to replace/rebuild and keep on keeping on.

Have you consider a Diesel swap? I've seen people put in 1996-2004 VW 1.9 TDI used and get great low end torque 250lbs and 190whp. They also get 35 hwy mpg in a Jeep swap. If I we're hell bent on keeping my Jeep after a blown end and had the skill set up to swap a motor I would do a TDI in my Jeep. Great power and tons of used parts, and aftermarket support for the VW fans. It seems the TDI swap is done for a lot of builds besides Jeeps.

Not a new crate engine, but did you try daveysjeeps.com. Look on their website. They part out jeeps for a business and up the road from you in Ohio.
