Axle upgrade D30, 35, 3.07 to D44s, 4.10

On investigating a gear upgrade for my Dana 30, 35 with 3.07 gears.
I wanted to go to 4.10 with lockers. Just using eBay as a reference, the prices seem only slightly less than the G2 Dana 44 4.10 ARB axle assembly from Quadratec.
The previous owner put lot of money and work into my TJ, and I'm concerned that it is just a "show pony" having this setup, that it looks great but can it cut it off road?
OK as is? Upgrade existing equip? Go for a pair of Dana 44?
Any and all help appreciated.

With your V8 engine I'd definitely be looking for a rear axle replacement...
