I don't think plastics will shrink significantly..... Metals will.
Thats what i did to get the bushings into my RC control arms...I stuck them in the deep freezer for an hour and they went right in..I believe the temperature was -30 degrees F.I guess it would be worth a try in this situation.


'01 TJ, Waggy 44 front, D44 rear, Both locked and loaded, Savvy Armor, SuperWinch LP8500, MetalCloak bumper, and a heavy foot.

Well I stand corrected. I didn't think they would shrink that much. Next time I'll have to try that, thanks for the tip.

When I put mine in, I lightly chamfered the holes in the frame rail and end of bushing. It was still a tight fit and required real beating with the wood block and hammer, but eventually it got in.

That's a good description of what I had to do also with the exception of the large ball of welding slag in the passenger side tube.
