Accelerator/throttle cable help!

Does anyone know how to get this black plastic clip off? Trying to get this cable the first wall so I can do my tub swap. It looks like there are tabs on the top and bottom that push in but tried that and it doesn’t really seem to work. Thanks!!

When I'm working with similar retainers, I find channel locks work best. You can widen the jaws to get a square bite and even pressure on the clips.

I am multi-talented, I can talk and piss you off at the same time.
