99 Jeep Wrangler TJ 4.0 4x4 5spd Manual lost 3rd & 4th gears
I had a new clutch, pressure plate throw out bearing and pilot bearing installed 3 months ago. Due to throw out bearing seizing up. Also replaced the master and slave cylinder with pre-bled kit. The throw out bearing was still making same squealing noise when clutch is disengaged and transmission is in neutral as it did before I had it all replaced.
My problem is now.. As I was pulling out and shift through gears there was a loud pop and 3rd gear was like neutral and also 4th gear. All other years work properly. I drove it back home having to shift from 1st, 2nd to 5th. Reverse still working as well. I wasn't far from home when this happened is why I drove it back.
I had noticed since the repair on clutch that I had a new whining sound and when shifting through the gears there was slack when I would let out the clutch and it caught in gear felt like something was moving .. I'm just not sure what. Any ideas on what possibly happened? I miss driving my Jeep and want to get it back on the road asap. Thanks

More then likely you lost the teeth in hub of the 3/4 synchronizer. I have seen it before

Could also be the 3-4 shift fork broke or came loose on the shift rail. Regardless, losing just 3rd and 4th gear means the transmission needs to come out and be torn down to determine the cause.
