5pt Harness question

Hi all,

Over the last 2 weeks I installed some Corbeau seats with a 5pt harness in my TJ. I welded in the harness bar a few degrees below shoulder level but the slots in my seat are probably 2" below my shoulders. I'm pretty average height 5'11" and I called Corbeau to verify the belt position wasn't a problem and they said even though it goes below my shoulders though the seat it was fine since it's mounted in that 0-10* window.

The angle as described sounds good to me. Good decision to go with 2" shoulder straps.

When you have a choice, buy American made.

I think you misread it, Jerry. The belts are 3", she slots in the seat are 2" below the told of my shoulders. I ended up returning the seats and ordering the "wide" version which are actually taller (and more narrow...go figure). Every documentation I could find pointed to slots that far below my shoulders being unsafe.

Never used seat slots, always brought belts over top, and if worried about belts slipping off shoulders use sternum strap...

Our Jkr has the suspension/tilt ones from the same people. harness. my bar is maybe an inch over the seat wholes in drivers positions. yours should be fine.

I run the wide belts. wife hates them. has to pad them. me dont notice really. I dont run air bags as well.

I didn't misread anything, I looked at the shoulder straps and they looked just like the 2" shoulder straps I installed. My lap belt is 3" but 2" has become very popular for shoulder straps. Yeah they still look like 2" shoulder straps but of course I'll take your word for them being 3".
