31x11.50 fit?

i have a stock 98 tj with no lift what so ever. will a 31x11.50 tire fit without rubbing? my rim has 4" backspacing

im trying to interpret the chart. am i safe with the 4"?

at full lock it might, you will want to extend your bumpstops. If you don't wheel at all you should be good.

It will be fine with 4" wheel backspacing.

The tires will fit fine.

What is confusing you with the chart? Maybe there is something I missed that would make it more clear.

it just says x backspacing or less... on all of them. it was just confusing at first, but now i got it

I can see how it could be confusing.

The X's represent the metric tire measurements that are not relevant to the width of the tire. (height and wheel diameter)

I'm going to fix this so hopefully its more clear.

so for example 4" backspacing, i couldnt tell if everything above that will fit, or everything under will. do you understand what i had problems with?

Here is how to use the chart:

1. Find your tire size.
2. Then follow that row over to the column that reads "Recommended Backspacing".

So for example, 11.50 tire width - it says 5" or less. Therefore 4" will work fine.
