2002 wiper motor replacement

I bought a replacement motor for my 2002 X and they swear that it is the correct motor, but it doesn't fit the stock linkage. Are there two different size wiper linkages that I'm not aware of? The 3 bolt holes are smaller on the motor and the bolt that attaches to the linkage only has one side that is cut where it needs both sides cut. Any thoughts?

What part number motor did you buy and where did you get it? If the wiper module assembly on your Jeep still has its part number sticker on it, what does it read? The sticker should look similar to the one in the attachment below.

Here is what's on my linkage. I bought the wiper motor from Rockauto, part number WPM442 made by world power systems.

The info on the part number sticker seems to more closely match the wiper assembly for a 2003-2006 model. I would try swapping out the WPM442 for a WPM453 to see if that fits.

I changed mine out on my 2002 a few months back- went thru NAPA. The one that they gave me was for an '02, but apparently mine had a '03 on it from the factory.
They re-ordered it for an '03 and it fit perfect

I suspect yours is a '03 also
