1999 TJ SE Radio and Wiring Help PLEASE

Just bought a pre owned 99 TJ. It already had an aftermarket radio which I attempted to replace today. I pulled the old radio and pulled the harness for the new radio. I took my new harness and matched all the colors. The is also a red wire with a fuse coming from the back. What is it??? I don't see it on any of the wire diagrams. After the install, the radio doesn't work as well as the heat blower and dash instrument cluster (mileage, speed, gas etc). I checked all the fuses and they are fine. Where did I go wrong and what's the deal with the red coming out with the fuse??

You can't always match up colors.
Find out what each wire does and then match each proper wire.
Red is switched power, yellow is constant power, black is ground.
Sounds like you might have messed up a factory wire with the deck ground possibly.

Get out and explore.
