Willys CJ3B Rescue

New here. First post. I first saw this 1957 Willys Jeep CJ3B about 47 Years ago. At the time it was sitting in a barn and had several old tractors sitting with it. The tractors have long since been gone. I passed by it often and could see what remained of the Jeep roof sitting half up. It was just off of the road but not real noticeable from the rear. The barn had long since fell on it at least 35 to 40 years ago and had long since disintegrated around it. This place was an abandoned hunting camp and I had never seen anyone around it. I found out who owned the property through the county tax records and placed a phone call. It took several weeks but I received a call back from a fellow and made arrangements to meet with him. A deal was struck and I was able to rescue the remains.
Seems like I'm not able to up load photos at this time. Will post this and try again here.

Welcome Dave, probably just the minimum post requirement. Post a few replies to this thread and you’ll be able to share!

Boy, I love a good rescue/build thread as much as anyone, but ...

Is there ANYTHING left Salvageable on that?

What's the plan?

I should have stopped after the first picture. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, however; if you are posting it here you must have a plan. Who knows, maybe you have one already and can use the parts. Either way, I hope you start a thread and take us along on your journey.

Well I guess that the first thing to do is pull the body off of it and see how the frame and chassis looks. Then decide from there whether to buy a body and do a ground up restoration, or use it for parts.

Yes

That is a Jeep.

Don't let anyone tell you different.

If you have fallen in LOVE with him.

Go ahead and picture him as he should be. He'll continue to look like that till you get done fixin'

How everyone else sees him does not matter.

Mine was left to die in a cornfield somewhere around 1974.
