Will this brake booster swap out on my 76 CJ7?

My Jeep has been sitting at a shop waiting for a new vacuum brake booster. Apparently theyíre impossible to source at the moment, nobody seems to have them in stock.
Meanwhile today I met a local fella that said he had one and he sent me these photos. It looks similar but slightly different.
Can anyone tell from these photos if it might work?

First the photos of mine...

Your current setup is interesting, the master cylinder is not a disc/drum setup (it is a drum/drum) or maybe even Jeep. The Combination Valve has been added below it but I am not familiar with the model or whether it is for drum/drum or disc/drum.

The bracket at the back looks CJ.

The one in the scrapyard was disc/drum.

What brakes have you got?

My Jeep has drums all around.

Should work fine then.

This is the setup I have coming from the Jeep Guy, he said it should work with my drum/drum brakes.

The 8" dual diaphragm booster set up, sweet!!!

he sells it as the disc/disc setup but it will work just as well on drum/drum. Serious force multiplication, stronger than any stock CJ setup.

Is he selling just the booster or does that include the master cylinder also?

If he sells it as a complete disk/disk setup with MC and Booster, it will work for a drum/drum setup as long as it has the residual pressure valve in it.
I forget what the pressure it has to have somewhere between 2 and 10 psi.

I have the exact same setup from him on my 76 and it's great. I swapped to discs on all 4 corners and it's one of the best things I've done to the CJ. Horsepower LLC disc kit up front and MTS disc kit on the rear. All new NiCopp lines rounded out the upgrade.

disc is 2psi, drum is 10psi, the 10 psi keeps the shoes against the drum so you have less pedal travel to brake. if it is advertised as disc/disc, then there is not likely any residual pressure valve installed. They can easily be added externally.

You can get the same booster for about $169.00 from eBay.

Summit racing also has it.

I believe all of them are imported by MBM and they are all made in China. The one I have works very well.

I have a bracket attached to my booster that holds my adjustable proportioning valve. This got the valve off the frame that was too close to my headers on my V8 swap. I just straightened the rear line from the old valve out and used a coupler and now all my connections to the valve are just below the master cylinder.

I have all drums on Puthijeep, without any residual pressure valves. The master cylinder and booster is a stock disc/drum unit but without a proportioning valve.

The trick is to adjust them so they bite evenly, something the self adjusters should do but are not foolproof. Then you know that first pump will always be right, no second pump needed.

If anything the brakes are a little bit too eager, no pumping required and it pulls up smartly in a straight line. The all-drum brakes were not intended to be servo assisted.
