I do have a tape measure but the tires are still on the wheels so I don't know how I would measure them. I knew they were eaither 15x7 or 15x8. I just need to be sure of which one. I would assume that there was a standard size.

most are 15x7" but they did make a 15x8"

put the tape through the opening in the wheel. if it's roughly 9" lip to lip, you have a 15x8, if it's 8", then it's a 15x7"

All WT (Wide Track) axles are 15x5.5 for steelies and 15x7 for wagon wheels whether they are white or chrome finish. All NT (Narrow Track) axles w/disc brakes are 15x6.5 for steelies and 15x8 for wagon wheels.

The chrome ones pictured are 15 x 7. I can tell be the distance on the second step up of the rim where the face folds under. If it was 15 by 8, this area would be larger. To confirm, take one off and use a rag to find the numbers on the back side of the rim. It will say "Made in Canada" "15 x 7" and a date stamp.. XX XX 82 or 83. DOT......long number.

DirtyDevin's spare tire looks like it's mounted on an older 15x8 NT wagon wheel by the looks of the second picture.

I have the 86 chrome Laredo rims like those and the size is stamped on the back side of it so you just have to turn it over to see. Mine are 15x7.

Looks like mine are 15x8. I had assumed these were not the original rims because they were not drilled for center caps and my Jeep is a Laredo. A post above mentions that 1980's, which my Jeep is, were not drilled for center caps? If not, how were they attached? Am I searching for center caps specific to 1980?

Looking at online pics of 1980 Laredos. I'm not seeing center caps on these things. Did 1980's not have them?

As said above, sometime they are stamped somewhere on the backside of the rim. A quick and dirty hack is to take two 5 gallon paint stirring sticks (free from Home Depot or Lowes), cut one it just fit across the lip of the inside of the rim and cut another to sit across the outside of the rim and then stick a tape measure through one of the holes in the rim and measure between the two paint stick. A helper makes the job easier.

You may already know this, but the 1980 also has the stronger 6 bolt locking hubs. IF you switched to wheels with the center caps, the 6 bolt hubs will not fit in the center caps. When center caps were introduced, Jeep went to the Warn hub on the CJ. Just think of all the money you are saving!

Regardless, a rare set of wheels you have.

Nice looking Jeep as well.
