Played lumberjack a little today.
42d69913-d26d-47c6-9aa6-3d37e2c8854a.jpg

Skidded logs around a bit. Topped a tree using the Jeep.
42ca38f3-caf7-4bc7-965c-c4922431c55d.jpg

Should of used my boom but didn’t have any skidding tongs.

Learning....

Kinda was a little too early on releasing the clutch going into reverse.
Sorry if I made any one cringe.

Topping the tree wasn’t exiting as it happened. I just heard “GO” so I went. Turned out the guy in the crane topping the tree had cut part way through and a wind came up blowing the top to his barn. It started cracking and he yelled “GO”. Fortunately we had a cable already tied to the Jeep.

This sounds familar, although I usually don't wait until later to talk to that guy. I generally call him an idiot immediately.

When I have that type of talk I have to look him in the eyes!

Best way to handle that as far as I'm concerned.

I used my jeep to haul a 300# pig out of the woods. 50 year old tailgate chains are able to withstand this much weight - FYI.

Have you ever been asked a question in a tone of voice that makes it an immediate order? That is how my wife asked me "When are you going to shave? It has been several days since the last time!"

I replied "I know but I've been avoiding having that conversation with him."

"Who?"

"The dumb a$$ in the mirror who effed up the brakes on the CJ."

Around here that is the only time I get to have the last word in any conversation.

bob4703, make sure you do what JS suggest. The moisture in the air alone will create a bad seal which will turn the brake fluid black. I simply take a small piece of wet sandpaper or fine emery cloth and sand that edge down lightly (making sure nothing gets into the reservoir). Clean the seal edges as well (do not sand). Then I smear some of the oil around the edge and put the lid back on. Tight seal!
