Hi Chris, yes, I sent a message Oct 9 from my gmail account to [email protected]. In fact, I just resent the original msg. Email can be a little weird around here....

website online

Hello everyone,

I just upgraded with weebly so the contact option is available through the site.

or email direct to [email protected]

I will wait a little longer for tan/saddle responses before ordering fabric.

I think the might need to be a bar from side to side for the back corner of the top to bend around.

Chris,

Here's some details on the YJ family bar safari top.

56" wide at front
48" wide at rear
58" long
Seam (as shown in the picture):38" from front
Bar flap (for tensioning) 5" to 1.5" taper, and 40” wide , with 5” of space per side.
This fits perfectly on a CJ7 with a YJ family bar installed.
Here's some pics

I'd definitely be interested in nutmeg bikini if the material were available.

Hello Everyone

I just spoke to my supplier for the fabric and will be placing an order next week. They have a decent deal on some other colors that should arrive to them by Friday and then he will send me a few swatches. They may have a color that is closer to Nutmeg and if so i will have them add some yardage to the order.

I will most likely order 3 rolls to offset some freight cost. (180 yards)

We will now be able to offer the Forte fabric instead of the Sailcloth. Haartz sent me some sample last year and i like the feel more than the sailcloth but was not able to buy it because it was unavailable (to new) from my distributor. They now stock it which is a nice surprise. If you email me I will send out samples for you.

I will be updating the website shortly and emailing first through the site helps keep my emails straight.

If you are wondering were the new found time came from,, I broke three ribs during a fall Sunday. I am framing the bedroom addition for this remodel and fell through the floor joist and caught a 2x10 in my side on the way down. I was told it will be 6-8 weeks before i can really work again so i am switching gears to some sewing. I hope to be back at the addition in a few days considering my son will arrive in June.

Anyway, I am looking forward to making some tops again and as always, I want feedback, I like the good, but i need the bad too if i am going to make the best top out there.

Jon, strange coincidence- I was thinking about USAtops earlier today and wondering about the status. So sorry to hear about your fall, but as bad as it is, it could've easily been many times worse. Glad you're ok, and appreciate the update! As I recall, I think I was on the hook for two tops- one bikini and one safari, both black. When you are at the point of needing initial measurements, just let me know! Looking forward to seeing your handiwork firsthand!

Best,
Hoover

Fyi update

I spoke with my distributor in SoCal and they have yet to receive the new shipment of fabric.

They are going to contact me when it arrives and send out some samples. It is a long shot that they with have anything close to Nutmeg.

I will most likely have the black, saddle and camel (lighter tan) colors.

I thought i would already have the product in hand but it looks like a few more weeks at best.
