No, I made my own seats but it was a real PIA. I honestly have very little "upholstery" experience. What little i have came from living on a sailboat and sewing my own stuff while cruising.

Am I too late to throw in for a nutmeg/spice/tan safari top?

Ken,

If you can round up enough spice (saddle) top orders, I will bring in a roll and be happy to sew them.

I want to match my original nutmeg denim seats and roll bar and I see that the original seat material is not something to be used on a top. Is there a current fabric color that aligns with nutmeg?

Scotty,

I might have a scrap of saddle somewhere in a box. I will look and if i do i will send you a swatch.

Here is a link comparing the saddle to a best top. They are different but saddle is what i have on my jeep.

Like Scotty I would be interested in a nutmeg bikini top. Would like a full top to but when I bought my Jeep back the P.O. had lost the soft top and all the hardware and frame. So the verdict is still out on what to do for a full top. No one seems to make one in nutmeg anymore.

I am interested in a full top-black. If you were up for trying out side panels I would gladly be a guinea pig.

I was thinking about trying to make a clear curtain that would zip into the current full length to. I was thinking about going for simplicity more than super fitment.

Something one piece that would easily roll up when not in use and stow behind the seat.

Not something you would run full time or be 100% water tight but something that would keep the occupants warm and dry.

A few people have PM me wanting to pay or give a deposit. It is not necessary at this time.

There is enough interest to bring in a roll of black and I will wait a little while to see if there is enough interest in the saddle/tan color.

The more I order, the better the freight cost is diluted. The rolls are heavyyy and come by freight so two rolls is really no more than one when shipped on a pallet.

Last year, the cost was 125 for half tops and 150 for full tops. If i am not mistaken, the largest shipping cost was ~25-30. The half top fits in a flat rate box but the full does not. I preferred to ship them in a long 4x4" box so i did not half to fold the plastic retaining strip. If you belong to a group, now would be the time to mention this to them. The more the better.

I tried to update the website but for some reason the contact page will not show to the public. The direct Email is [email protected].

Those who are interested, Please send an email directly to that address and i will compile a list.

Jon,
Sounds interesting, I do keep it in the garage. I have an 85 cj7 with the original bows for the top.

Chris,
What did you mean by "these measurements" ?

I'm quite certain your existing Safari that wraps around the hoop won't work on my Jeep.

let me get you a pic (or two) and some general measurements of the Bestop YJ Safari and you can make a decision what to do.
