I'm curious though. Can you describe what happened?

How do the pins look? Could be incorrect install, age or just worn out. Replace the cap, spring and usually a dust cover comes with it. Check the pins for wear too.

Iím thinking cheap crown replacement cap and pushing the shifter too far?

Iíll have to look at mine again to be sure but the crown replacement one is much thinner than the oem one.

John, Yep a crown replacement and I thought it was too thin (cheap). It didn't last very long.

Do you know where I could get a OEM or a better than Crown Shifter control housing cap?

Thanks

I'll have to open mine up eventually, so this is good to know. A search for T176 parts and "housing cap" found that Novak sells parts, though I'm not sure whose parts they sell. https://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/...rts/t176-parts Most other suppliers seem to sling the Crown part, but might be worth a call to Novak. Also found a Mopar part on ebay, sold by deadjeepparts.
