Starting my AMC20 Rear Disc Conversion

I've only been working on this for 6 months....or rather, I tore the axle apart 6 months ago then stalled (too much stuff to do around the house)

I'm doing the conversion using Suzuki Rotors and Nissan 300 calipers. There 'used' to be a couple of guys who were making the bracket to hold the caliper....but no one has responded to my I am making my own.

I found a dwg on the internet...but...the dimensions on it are off. Actually, not even really close.

This is my first pass at the bracket....I 3-D printed it this morning....I'll test fit it when I get home. Then adjust the dwg as needed. Once I have the right fit, I'll send the dwg off to SendCutSend to make the parts.

In case you have not heard of these people, one of many companies doing laser metal cutting vial mail order. You go on you dwg or dfx dwg....pick the material, select quantity....they give you a price right there. If it's what you want, give them your CC...and a few days later it shows up in the mail. We have used them at work a few times. So far, each part has been perfect.

My 3-D printed bracket is a cheaper way to make sure it's right.

Once I have the size right....I'll make the dwg available to anyone who wants it.

One question for anyone who has done this.
Is there a 'desired' angle for the caliper to sit? All the setups I've seen show the caliper at about the 10 o'clock position as viewed the passenger side.

This weekend I'll plasma cut the backing plates to give me the flange I need....I want to get my jeep back on the trails..

I have an extra set if your interested. Pay shipping on them and they are yours. I sold my AMC 20 that had a pair to a friend and kept the extra set in case I ever did that set up again. I didn’t see your post for a request earlier. They are patterned the same as your pic.

They are very clean and precise done by an industrial company in my area for free.

PM for questions.
