Dash re-wire ?'s

I'm re-wiring my dash, found that I'm missing 1 of the light sockets that fit into the back of the speedo gauge. It is one of the gauge back lights that ground to the gauge housing. I'm having trouble finding a replacement. Anyone know where to find one?

Best thing might just be to go junkyard digging for such a specific part. Best of luck.

Cheers.

if junk yards only had CJ's

I have a 3 wire plug that goes to my wiper switch, then a red and yellow wire that plug into the switch seperately. what are these 2 wires? Are they for the washer? Note - washer pump and lines have been removed by PO so I don't need that.

My Chilton's wiring diagram shows that the yellow runs to the washer motor and the red to the wiper motor. Hope that helps.

Thanks tumnusfleming, I had a feeling that is what those wires are for, now I know I can delete those, at least the yellow anyway, since I don't have a pump, tank, lines or nozzle for my windsheild washer. Or I guess I could make that button do something else.........have to think about that.......

Anyone know where to find the lamp socket for the back of the speedo?

1976-1986 Jeep CJ7 Instrument Cluster Bulb Socket - Omix

Here's a good place to start for the bulb socket guys. Maybe you could make the washer button into a beer tap? Maybe don't use it while you're driving though...

X 2 on the NAPA #. I bought a dozen of 'em and replaced all of Nugene's and saved the rest for spares.
The o.e. ones kept breaking the ground clip off the plastic housing. NAPA ones made slightly different and won't break off.

If it's good TO you, it's gotta be good FOR you....
