I got a cj7 recently and there is a relay directly under the steering wheel drawing half an amp when the key is off, getting hot and draining the battery. when i take it out the jeep draws 0 amps with key off. what is this relay for. Here's a pic. do i just need to replace this relay or is it more likely there is a wire with a short in it somewhere.
The pin sticking up from the turnsignal switch could be broken off touching something

About the 1;00 position in this picture
the cam has another contact pin that can be broken dragging on another metal part
This one the button is missing. The spring can be sticking out shorting.
The ring that the button could be inserted incorrectly shorting out the circuit.
not to mention any pinched wires from the TS to the relay.
