Rear seat

Will a wrangler rear seat fit an early model CJ or will it be too wide? I can get a good one for $20.

No wider. The wrangler tub is same as CJ7 Except the tailgate and opening, as well as fuel inlet, until change of tub in '96. Seats will fit in mounts just fine if made prior to '96.

Good find.Good luck.

Mind if i ask where you found a seat for $20. I am in search of a back seat for mine. And yes.....55-95 Wranglers have the same rear seat size.

I got one I want to get rid of also. One is stock and one is home made. Home made one bolts to the fender well so there is no holes in the bottom of the tub.

I dont want my son carring a ton of friends when he starts driving so I'll get rid of the seat. Can't really make out in the rear seat anyway.

John, never underestimate teenagers. Taking out the rear seat might make him haul MORE kids...sitting along the fenderwells and on the floor.

YJ Wrangler rear seats will fit in CJ's. TJ Wrangler rear seats are too wide to fit in CJ's.

ha ha you'll just have to fill that space with something more useful like subwoofers or a spare tire rack....

Tool box full of plow equiptment.

If I had a tail gate it would be cool to turn the seat around and drop the tail gate. Then you cn sit in the seat and relax watching all the girls go by..

How much do you want for your seat? I live in Florida. Shipping might down right suck on that though.

John, when I was in highschool my dad could have filled the back of his YJ with rusty razor blades and dirty needles and I would have still jumped back there with the first girl that was willing (but I had standards, I swear!). And I'm sure it would have still been comfortable to me! Again, don't underestimate the poon obsessed mind of a teenage boy!
