Omix Ada Suspension

Finally got a new (old) Jeep after all these years and need to redo the suspension. The front is sagging pretty bad. I want to stay pretty stock on this build, and have found an Omix "master rebuilder suspension kit". I can find hardly any reviews of it. Has anyone used this kit? It's what I'm looking for, if it's not crap. ?

This is "kit" for 1984 CJ7

http://www.morris4x4center.com/suspe...-18290-05.html

Looks complete with OEM shackles. I have no experience with the kit thus
can't give any advice.

Cheers, JS

Most of what Omix produces is junk and for that price there's no way I'd be interested. You can shop around for what you need and get a much better end result.

I agree with Jim. I generally avoid anything with the Omix Ada name, if I can. A vast majority of their stuff is garbage.

Most if not all of the suspension parts you can buy over the counter or next day at most parts stores. You may have to order springs and if you do order OMIX-ADA and not Crown. Springs are one of the items that OMIX sells that are not junk and are actually better than OEM. I ordered Crown front springs and one was damaged in shipping!

So now that we've convinced the OP Omix is junk maybe we could steer him in the right direction to getting a good setup and not break the bank. Whatever springs you use I would definitely get new u-bolts and strongly consider replacing the factory shackles.

Yeah, if you have any suggestions on springs, I'll take them. It doesn't look like there are a ton of great options out there for a stock height spring. Superlift has a 1" lift spring, which would be fine. I want to keep tires at 30"-31". I donno, looking around, it seems the only spring that gets great reviews are BDS, but they only make a 4" lift spring. I have seen lots of talk on the YJ conversion, but I'm not yet convinced it is worth it.

I've heard good reviews, but don't have personal experience with, Alcan springs. They custom make them to them based on your wants and rig.

I've always had pretty good luck with Crown for replacement stock Parts, would have to do some research to see if they have any affiliation with Omix Ada....quality shocks would not hurt either.

The springs are totally different. As I stated I ordered Crown OEM front replacement springs and one was damaged in shipping. The damaged part was band that holds the springs together front and back. The vendor had just trown them in a box along with some other stuff and shipped them. I had other items damaged in that shipment. The replacement spring was shipped from the factory in Mass. I ordered OMIX-ADA springs for the rear and they were better constructed and made in the USA too. Both the Crown and OMIX springs appeared to be heavier than the OEM springs.

I've ordered parts sold by both companies and have received some bad parts. I've also received parts that were as advertised. If there were suppliers who had alternatives at a reasonable price I'd try them.

Yesterday I returned and reordered a part made by a reputable company and made in the USA because it was defective.
