Lugnut,

A very kind offer, but I just ordered one on ebay.

BTW I live near Greensboro. I used to travel through Morganton often on the way to the South Mountains.

Thanks again,

JS

Lugnut, that's a very kind offer, thanks! If you have a factory clock harness, I'll certainly take you up on it. If not, it'll be no problem for me to make my own.

Matt
Duh, you are right, I shouldn't post with only 1.5 hours of sleep....

You know how you get left and right mixed up when you look at something from the backside....

You could make your own harness:

John,

You may be onto something. The factory cup may provide some weather protection but it has an open slot for wires to exit the cup. The factory tachs I've seen have a translucent blue housing so a opaque cup may have something to do with preventing the housing from projecting light under the dash.
The aftermarket Jeep tachs have a black housing and use a strap not unlike the clock.

Mike,

Just send it in with the shipping info page from the ISI website. Mention the "Jeepforum discount" on that page.

That should be all it takes to get the discount.

You'd have to pry it out of the Keith's cold dead fingers. Just saying.

My clock hit the post office this morning. Hopefully I'll finally have a working semi-OEM clock in about 8 weeks. WooHoo!!

I mailed mine out today as well.

Here is Lori's email response when I asked price and turn around time:

The price to quartz convert your clock is $140.00- 10% 14.00(mention jeep forum) + shipping. This includes us installing the
quartz movement, cleaning up the case, polishing the lens, replacing the bezel, and repainting the hands. The line time
is approximately 2-3 weeks. If you decide to send your clock in, please include a note listing the year, make, and model of
the car along with your name, address, and phone number. We will contact you when we receive your clock.

Thank you,
Instrument Services, Inc.

Good deal, mine is shipped off as well. Wow, how many clocks are we up to??? Maybe we should have held out for 15% off with 10 clocks!

Here's a 'before' pic, and the shipping box. No doubt that ISI will be proficient at CJ clock repair by the end of this!

If Keith would send in everything he's hoarding, we could probably get half price.

Here's what mine looked like before shipping. it will be fun to compare before and after pics.

Jeez, I'd believe that from the picture he posted. Keith has a nice stash of instrumentation. Getting all that fixed would break my bank for sure.

And Matt, the fact that your clock is stuck on 5:00 doesn't surprise me.

Hoov,

Yeah, I got a chuckle out of the 5:00 time, as well. I immediately thought of the Alan Jackson song, "It's 5 o'clock somewhere".

I don't blame Keith for squirreling away all those OEM gauges. I'd probably do the same. But, I will admit being a little frustrated when I saw his stash, considering it took me almost 5 years to find ONE non-working clock in decent shape.

I hope I'm around for his garage sale if/when that time comes.

Matt

That is the last part I need for a complete NOS dash.

Except the Speedo front which I have all but given up on.

Fortunately, more than half the stuff is not broken and is NOS or near new.

I do have two NOS fuel gauges that I bought many moons ago from Leon Rosser Jeep in Alabama. Rosser is no more and the first one they sent me is backwards. Meaning, F or Full is on the left and E Empty is on the right. I don't know what Jeep these are for but they sent me a new correct one and just told me to keep the ODD one. I'm willing to part with it as it is of no use to me. Maybe these are for our right hand drivers down under? Part #5554537.

It's brand new and never out of the box except to look at.
