I actually love the stance that thing has now. I would get the powertrain freshened up, and the rust is gonna be a major priority, Then do a paint job. For 50 bucks that a beautiful find.

That's a great deal! If you don't like that dash pad I'd be willing to take it off your hands for a negotiated price. Got any details on the running gear?

Most of us here only dream about throwing that kind of (initial) money to around...you may want to change your screen name to 'Big Pimpin' Jeeper!

J/K- what a helluva deal!

is that a stright shift stick (T176???) I see in there? was there a back story on it?

either way, congrats, and welcome to JF! I look forward to following your progress

From looking at your pic of your interior it looks to be a T-176. The T-176 is a great manual transmission so you'll be happy. Since your jeep is an 85 you more than likely have the Dana 300 transfer case which is one of the best tcases's made available to Jeeps.

Check out Novak Jeep Conversions - Home

If you go to their knowledge section you will find some great information about the different transmissions and transfer case combinations.

Good luck on your build. My CJ looked to be in about the same condition when i started as well. Keep the beer close, your going to need it!

Build it, Wheel it, Break it, Fix it and Repeat!
