Laredo chrome grill overlay opinions

Looking for a good used one (let me know if you have one- mine wont polish out) but if I cannot find one, does anyone have experience with the replacement ones you can find online? Any good?

I've used a couple of these, and they fit and look just fine.

Not sure if these come with any pinstriping if you are needing that for a Laredo. Other posts on here about where to find that.

My 75í came with a chrome overlay with a black pinstripe around the border. Iíve always wondered if it was factory or a PO installed it. It looks pretty old but that doesnít mean too much. Were the chrome grill overlays a Laredo specific option? Iíve always wondered about it. My Jeep had some interesting factory options (304, HD Cooling package, black leather bucket seats) that always made me wonder if it wasnít just a base model.

I believe you could order the overlay but it was stock on the Laredo. The Laredo had the black stripe onbthe overlay and I believe around the instrument area. Also had some other items including steering wheel and padded sissy bar.

I found mine on a CJ-7 that had burned to the ground. The owner kept insisting he was going to rebuild it, but I went back about 6 months later to offered him $50 for the grille, to which he finally caved and sold it to me. It has the black stripe as well - to which I'm surprised it survived the fire. The grille and front 3" of the hood were about the only things left, even the aluminum spare was mostly a puddle in the area by what was left of the back seat.

The Mopar overlays are chrome. The aftermarket overlays are available chromed or stainless. The OEM overlay dips down into the headlight openings and is retained by the headlight trim and tabs in the turn signal openings. The aftermarket is held in place by screws through it into the grille. Zoom in on the different pics that the vendors put up and you will easily spot the difference. The black pinstripe is available in a full kit from Phoenix but I don't believe they are available separately. A good pinstriper could paint one for you. You could also try tape but it will be a challenge.
