Nice big garage. I wish I had one like it to work on my projects. Only the first time the old black dog and I took a three day Jeep trip she'd fill it up with her junk.

Clipping right along. Started the teardown after Thanksgiving (we spent Thanksgiving on St. Croix and now have our next chapter house under contract there...the lower level is a garage/shop!!! Pretty much unheard of there). Should have the tub off before Christmas, shooting for full teardown by then.

Thanks. Once I'm done/close to done with the Scrambler, I'm going to tear the '7 back down and give it the same treatment. This should move fairly quickly since I'm setting aside much of my usual frugality in the name of speed. Depending upon how quickly the outsourced stuff is done, it might be a rolling chassis again by the end of January.

It's been brutally cold the past couple of weeks, so there's been little progress. I brought the dash, fenders & half doors up to the house and stripped them down in the basement. The rebuilder should be done with the trans today or tomorrow (had to crawl under the other Scrambler on Sunday in the freezing cold to pull the t-cases and get the tailhousing off of the trans where we were using it for mock up so that they can set the endplay & finish up). Ordered up the u-bolt yokes, Novak master rebuild kit & aluminum pan for the Dana 300 and will be dropping the 360 off at the rebuilder soon (due for a snowstorm this weekend along with another temperature drop). Found a shop that can dip the frame to clean it, so I'll haul it out there after I get the drivetrain out & repair the body mounts.

Pulled the t-case last night and got the engine/trans ready to pull. Snow day today due to a storm that's rolling in, so I high-tailed it down to the shop, loaded up the 360 and dropped it off at the builder's shop and picked up my 999 from the trans shop.

Got another break in the weather, so I finished the teardown over the weekend. Picked up my t-case today...full rebuild with Novak master kit & aluminum pan. Could have done it myself, but figured my time could be better spent elsewhere and the trans shop could get it done during the week while I'm at work. Sold the 30/20 combo, the T-176 w/GM bellhousing and the tub are up for sale.

Man, what I couldn't do if I had a shop that big. I can hardly move in my 600 sq ft garage with the tub in one bay, chassis in another and the kid's Harley in the third. Sheesh. Good luck, and keep on Jeeping. BTW, I am just as much a Jeepstake as you are. Lots of fits and starts.

With the pending move to a locale with humid, salty air, fixing this tub the way that I want to is more costly than selling it and buying a Repli-Tub. If we were staying here, I'd just patch it and keep it moving. Trust me, I struggled with the decision.

Kinda sucks...I finally really get around to using when we're prepping to leave. I built it with the intention that this was our final earthly destination. At least the new place has a decent sized shop, so I don't have to shed all of my tools & parts. I have to keep fighting with myself to spend the money to keep this pace, just not how I'm wired...bought a lot of stuff during the holiday sales, so that helped me maintain some of my Jeepskate ways.

I dropped the frame and a few other items off at the dip-stripper out in Toledo on Saturday, so I should have that back within a couple of weeks. Found a small 'decoating' place right by my job, so I'm taking some of the smaller stuff that I want to have galvanized there tomorrow for stripping. New AFW body mount brackets, AutoFab AMC V8 mounts & Four x Doctor gas tank skid plate arrived last week. The engine shop is working up the estimate for the rebuild (engine sat outside somewhere along the line before I got it, so they have to go 30 over to clean it up)...keeping close to stock, just using a Lunati Voodoo cam & lifters and will probably go EFI. Have to plan a day to run up to Medina to the plating & coating shop to get the thinner items done. Looks like I'm on track to start putting it back together around mid-March, should be closing on the STX house at the end of March.
