How to place hard door vent window seal ?

I got new seals for the vent windows on my 84 cj7s hard doors. Does anybody know how to replace those ? Can they be done with the door fully assembled ?

Some disassembly will be required to replace those seals. Here's a great write up on repairing doors. Hope it helps-

I've replace the vent window seals on my doors. I've kinda forgotten the details, but I don't recall it being too difficult.

What problems are you having?

Matt

I haven't started yet. I just didnt want to take them off and run into any trouble, like needing a special tool .....

I got it started. I see a 1/2 inch nut and spring on one end . Maybe it will come out just removing that.

I'm in the middle of doing this right now and have run into two issues. First, that nut is rusted to the bolt so I broke the connection at the vent window frame. Once I get it loose I will JB weld it back in to see if that works. The second issue is getting the new seal to seat in the fairly flimsy frame without distorting the frame. Still working on that one.

Yeah my bottom stud with the spring snapped too . I still have enough stud to where I can wedge something in between the lip of the stud and the frame. Some e clips would work good here. I'm wondering if I should just leave my other vent window alone.

Update I ended up drilling the flat part of the stud and putting a cotter pin through it to keep it up in the window
