HELP- is the tub and roll bar the same 4 a 78cj to 95?

I want to buy a top kit called the safari windjammer. Maybe some of you have seen it, Its a half cab with a top, bed cover, and a cab backing. but cant find it for my 79cj7. there is one for 92-95 body style. Is it the same dimentions? Thanks for your input!

The roll bars are definately different, 92-95 have the family style roll bar. I believe the Safari top actually straps to the roll bar. Sorry, I don't think it will work for ya.

95 YJ 8" of lift 36" Iroks, & more mods than I can really afford. The General Lee....YEEEEHAA

The only difference between your CJ7 Sport roll bar and the Family style roll bar for the 92-95 YJ's are the way the rear bars come down to the rear mounts. The sport bar comes straight down from the loop to the mount while the family style runs back towards the rear for a short distance and then turns down to the mount. They still mount in exactly the same holes (except for two holes being 1/2" off), but the width and dimensions are generally the same. You will want a Bikini top vs a safari top as the safari top extends to cover the back seat slightly and uses part of the family style roll bar as a tie down. The bikini top just covers the main cabin. Bikini tops for the YJ jeeps will have velcro tabs on the sides to tie down to the horizontal bars that go from the loop to the windshield (which you dont have on a CJ) but you can just cut the velcro tabs off or swap the YJ bikini top for a CJ bikini top if you have the option as part of the kit. You'll need to look at it, but the windjammer should only tie down to the roll bar loop, and the CJ7 loop and the YJ loops are exactly the same, so you should be good to go there. Now the bed cover will be tricky because of the angle that the rear part of the roll bar comes down at - although they mount in the same location, the YJ roll bar comes down more vertically while the CJ roll bar comes down at more of an angle. Depending on how the bed cover wraps around the rear part of the roll bar, you might be able to get it to work. If all else fails, put in a YJ roll bar! Years 92-95, NOT 87-91 - those years still used the sport style.
