H1 Steering Box Brace

Assembling parts and curious for those that went with H1 box which one using to brace against passenger frame rail. It appears the one we have now may not mate to the box.

Tnx in advance.

Look it's a 4.6!

Ordered the more mounts And their bomb proof motor mounts. We discovered a number of frame cracks where the existing cross brace mounts to pass frame rail. A spider web of misery. Lots of torque happening here...fml.

Time to do this is now. Pulling the built 4.6 stroker. Seems the Teflon coated pistons failed and seals no longer doing the job, blow by plus other unwanted pain. Warranty expired 9 mos ago... poor compression # 5 & 6. Weee here we go!

Look it's a 4.6!

That sucks! Sorry for the misery.
I also have More bomb proof motor mounts for the SBC in mine. Nice set up had them welded in, liked them better than Novak's mounts. No cracks to date.

I don't recall who made the brace I have (I think most of them are pretty much the same), but when I switched to the H1 gear box, the old brace had to be modified a little to fit. I had to grind about 1/8" off one of the"clamp rings" so that it would clear the larger box diameter.

When I was younger, I thought I was Don Quixote... turns out I'm just another donkey-hootie.

The H1 was produced from 1992 to 2004 I believe. So any of those yrs should do it. However it is getting harder to find one.
